i got RAW candy pink hair dye...i tested it out in a small area and it wasnt very vibrant...i used more of it and left it in longer when i acutally dyed my bangs...it still wasnt very vibrant...i think my problem is that my hair wasnt bleached before i dyed it pink...is there anything around the house that i could use next time to bleach my hair so i dont have to go out and buy a kit?

Using bleach and then putting heat onto it can
do some serious damage to your hair and scalp
it is possible and easy for you to make yourself
bald - perminently.
I think it was a careless suggestion for a
professional to have made to another who has
not been taught about colour.

it depends how dark your hair is. you generally only need bleach if you're goign from really dark hair to a really light colour. if you want to do that, bleach is the only option.
another thing, a few years ago, i had blonde hair and wanted to have hot pink tips but couldnt find a hot pink dye anywhere, so i got a spray instead. it lasts until you shower, but it worked really well, even on my friends dark hair. maybe you would want to try that instead.. that way you wouldnt have to bleach your hair.

Well you can actually use bleach, although I dont recommend it. If you have an old bottle of color developer, than you can use the cream. My colorist uses straight 40 volume on my dark hair to lighten it, but it turns lighter, but not blonde. You can pick up developer at Sallys for about $3 for a huge bottle. Otherwise use a bleaching kit for the lightest results.

You have to bleach it.. You could use peroxide or go get sun-in from any grocery store or pharmacy.. It's only like $3 a bottle..

You are going to have to use hair bleach on it to make the pink show up especially if you have dark hair. Just go ahead and spend the few dollars for a blonder..at Sally Beauty Supply you can buy one packet of bleach powder for about 2 bucks, then add 40 volume developer,(but not on the scalp) if you want to put it all the way to the scalp use 20 volume with a plasitc cap and heat (such as a blow-dryer)to pre-lighten before the pink, just rinse it off when you think it is a lighter shade than the pink you chose. (no more than 20 minutes) shampoo that out and dry it and then apply the pink, leave it for about 25 minutes and rinse it thouroughly, Pre-lightening or pre-bleaching before a temporary color such as Raw not only enables the fashion colors in your case the pink to show up, but it also changes the hairshaft making it more porus, therefore allowing the pink to "grab" and stay in a bit longer than it would if you just put it on your natural hair. In a couple of weeks when the pink fads, you wont have to bleach it all over again, just redo the pink until it has grown to the point you have roots, or "new growth"then only pre-lighten the part that has grown in your natural hair color.
