Dying bright pink hair black.?

i have naturally light brown hair and about a year ago i dyed it black. several times, actually. and then about a month ago i decided to bleach the underneath layer and dye it hot pink. i'm getting sick of the hot pink, and i was wondering if i can dye my whole head black again without the worry of odd colors of my underneath hair? help, please!

I would definitly go to a professional for this. With the amount of products out there and the way everyone's hair reacts differently I just wouldn't want to end up some weird decomposed fushia colour. Plus your hair can only benefit from a professional going over. 'IF' of course a professional did this (not sure as you didn't specify) then you should have no problem at all as these special tones like pink or blue aren't meant to stay on for years anyway.

Bet it looked nice though!

I did the same as i had blonde slices running through my jet black hair. I just used a tint all over, but you have to probably use more on the pink and you will have to keep re doin it as it fades!

THE BLACK WILL FADE OVER TIME SO YOU WILL HAVE TO KEEP REDYING IT. BUT THAT'S WITH ANY BLEACHED HAIR

Well, there are two possibilities.

A.

Nothing horribly bad will happen, except you might have uneven coloring of the old and new black mixes.

B.

The bleach (which is a red undertone) might mix with the black (which is a blue undertone) and you'd end up with an off burgandy shade which is more like a disgusting, splotchy eggplant.

Your best bet would be to go to a professional, or get a kit to remove all of the dye from your hair. Condition it afterwards or it'll split like mad, and then redye it.

i had a white-blonde on the top half of my head before christmas and black underneath. I wanted to get it all black but we all know you're not supposed to put dark dye over bleached hair...

But i did anyway!

I used a darkest brown, and that covered pretty well. Obviously it fades so i have to re-dye about every 2-3 weeks instead of 4..

But the most IMPORTANT thing is... if you use a dark brown, it will fade out to a lighter shade where the bleached parts where, but not to a POO-GREEN, which is what happens with pure/blue/black dye over bleached hair.

So speaking from experience, i'd say choose a dark brown to start with, make sure you use a good hair conditioning mask or something once a week, and be prepared to dye it more often than usual for a few months, until you've got a build up of colour on your hair. (which hairdressers hate.. but hey!)

I didn't have any problems with my hair. I went from my natural light brown to bleached and baby pink to black. The colour wasn't uneven and didn't go any funny colours. Maybe I was lucky!?

use a brown colour first to add a build up of colour, that way the black should last longer when you apply and look even
