I can't speak for anything but New York theatre. Pink hair is acceptable. Try and make sure she doesn't have to sit next to anyone with purple or orange hair - she'd clash.

At times I look at it as different. There are times I think that the person is seeking attention and found a way to get it. Especially for a young teenage child who isn't getting enough attention from a parent or parents they lash out in different ways. I think pink hair is really cool. But just make sure the hair compliments your skin tone and it frames your face. Don't dye it all pink though, I think it would look better if you did as much as Jes did.

i really like special effects brand. I've used it alot and it lasts a really long time depending on if you bleach it first however. Atomic pink was my very favorite. It glows under blacklight too!

I have naturally Level 2 Dark Brown hair.

There's a few different ways I have lightened my hair over past 10+ years to go blonde.

I've used powder hair bleach with 30 volume creme developer (availible at beauty supply stores) This is good if you want to dye your hair all the fun colors since it will lighten your hair to a light yellow gold color.

Follow the directions on the bleach packet and right after you rinse and towel dry your hair apply punky color.

I then stepped it up by using hair lightneing powder with 40 volume creme developer....this was when I was all about having platinum blonde hair. This should turn your hair a very pale yellow (like the inside of a banana peel) and then you apply a violet toner (for example like Manic Panic's Virgin snow or Clairol Jazzing's Icicle)

Here's the powder lightener I used.

I moved on to using a liquid lightener which uses a powder activator and 20 volume creme developer. The one I use is called Clairol 7th stage. It's pretty good because when I use it with 3 actiavtor packets. Examples below.

Be sure to use a moisturizing shampoo and good mositurizing condtioner and be sure to deep condtion once a week.

some old ladies come into my work once a week for a shampoo and blow wave. because their hair is so grey/white they want some sort of colour in it so they put in a "water rinse" this is the same as if you put food dye and water in your hair pretty much. anyway, these colours are called "fancifull rinses" and they coem with all sorts of ridiculous names like "bashfu blonde" "saucy beige" "true steel" "silver lining" "white minx"

anyway, they are slightly coloured and it just gives them a little bit of a tone so they don't look so white.

the "true steel" one is the blue

most salons anywhere don't carry unnatural hair colors, if they do it is really expensive becuase they will most likely want to bleach ur hair first and just that is pretty expensive, especially in a lot of maimi salons. Well you can actually use bleach, although I dont recommend it. If you have an old bottle of color developer, than you can use the cream. My colorist uses straight 40 volume on my dark hair to lighten it, but it turns lighter, but not blonde. You can pick up developer at Sallys for about $3 for a huge bottle. Otherwise use a bleaching kit for the lightest results.

You are going to have to use hair bleach on it to make the pink show up especially if you have dark hair. Just go ahead and spend the few dollars for a blonder..at Sally Beauty Supply you can buy one packet of bleach powder for about 2 bucks, then add 40 volume developer,(but not on the scalp) if you want to put it all the way to the scalp use 20 volume with a plasitc cap and heat (such as a blow-dryer)to pre-lighten before the pink, just rinse it off when you think it is a lighter shade than the pink you chose. (no more than 20 minutes) shampoo that out and dry it and then apply the pink, leave it for about 25 minutes and rinse it thouroughly, Pre-lightening or pre-bleaching before a temporary color such as Raw not only enables the fashion colors in your case the pink to show up, but it also changes the hairshaft making it more porus, therefore allowing the pink to "grab" and stay in a bit longer than it would if you just put it on your natural hair. In a couple of weeks when the pink fads, you wont have to bleach it all over again, just redo the pink until it has grown to the point you have roots, or "new growth"then only pre-lighten the part that has grown in your natural hair color.

The only way to do it right is permanant. bleach your hair and then get flamingo pink hair dye. The only way temp will work is if you dont wash it out. In that case, I'd use pink koolaid or those liquid brush-on colors that make your hair gooey, but will paint it any color.

When my hair was all one length, I had the front two pieces on either side of my face pink. It looked so cool but I got over it fast. I would do pink!! But if you are using dye that has bleach in it, realize that the pink part will fade and you will be left with the parts you made pink bleach blonde, which also looks really cool. Good luck!

It really depends on your skin tone, and eye color. If you have red-auburn hair the pink would be easier to do than the white. If it is brown-auburn then you could just try for the white, and if you don't like it you can put the pink. Having different colors is a lot of fun :). I've had 'em all (except yellow).

Beware that bleaching the ends of your hair can damage them.

I have dyed my hair hot pink! (was going to a pink concert so it had to be done) my natural hair colour is med brown but at the time of dying it was auburn,(my Friend was also doing it and she had auburn hair too).

Hers what i did, i bleached my hair to take the colour our and then dyed it pink and the colour was fantastic!!!! it doesn't matter what colour Ur hair is u can always use make up to tone ur face, i have quite a pale face but with a little bronzer and blush it toned my face up a treat, my friend coloured her hair over her auburn and that was great to but was not a vibrant, had my hair like that for a bout 2 months, it is hard to up keep but it was fun.When Xmas cam along i dyed it Xmas red and that was fun too.

personally i love dark with a few white blonde %26amp; pink streaks underneath but i think blonde %26amp; pink looks amazing too (first 1 might look bit more natural because it's easier to hide the streaks).

why not get some clip-in extensions and try out new styles with them before you dye your hair?

take it from me i have done my hair like that and i loved it but it was jet black with hot pink and looked fab miss it it was well funky and fun, but beware if hair is dyed blonde and then pink put in the whole of the hair could turn a funny shade of pink as blonde dyed hair is more porous and will crab any colour and when the colour runs it runs into each other so i would go dark witjh pink i loved it

Sallys has all types. Don't get Manic Panic though. It doesn't last very long and fades to horrible colors. I use Beyond The Zone Special Effects. The lighter the hair the more closely it will resemble the color in the bottle. If you use the clear one over it, it makes it more shiney and has it last longer.

Highliting kits are availble most anywhere where they sell hair dye.

well, i just got a blue streak in my hair a few weeks ago and had to take it out for a concert i was performing in.

my hair dresser suggested to make a little paste containing shampoo, preferably a cheap brand, and baking soda. work it into the hair just like you were washing it and leave it in for several minutes. then rinse with warm water and repeat a couple of times. it takes out the initial coloring and lightens it. if you got other parts of your hair dyed a color other than the pink, dont apply the paste to your whole head. i had to pull the strands with blue through a shower cap and apply the paste to just that section.

i also washed it a lot after i got it done, that seemed to help some too. although it doesnt fully disappear, it does lighten.

You can use a semi permanent hair color such as redkin-shades or matrix -color sync Paul Mitchel has a hair color called ink, however these colors will not be vivid enough to show up on black hair. so you must bleach it first then add the coloring over the top. however a quick fix to what you want would be adding a few strands of pink hair that you can buy already colored and weave the strands in or glue them in they are what you call hair extensions they come in all kinds of lengths and colors and you can add one to a whole head full. then when you don't like them any more presto just take them out.

OMG! I have black hair and I have been getting hot pink chunks put in my hair for a while. You have to bleach the dark hair out before you put the pink on it or the color will not show. My hairdresser sits me under the dryer so my pores will open and the hair day will stain them better. Also, bright colors like that FADE very fast!

HONESTLY, I have a hairdresser who does it for me. I have been going to her for a while, so she really knows my hair. If I were you, I would not try to do this on my own, it can be very damaging to your hair.
