Hello, I am a licensed cosmetology instructor, and I would tell you that if you have gold tones to your head, you need to use a blue based color to neutralize gold, so if you end up with gold hair, then you a beige blonde to neutralize the gold, and if you have red tones then you will need to use an ash.

But be careful, if your hair is a dark gold, then you will need a darker beige blonde, so if your tone now is not what you want, then you will need to choose a color that will neutralize the tones that you dont want, but if you put a light beige on dark gold hair, it may not do much.

Just be careful, because after stripping color from your hair, it is really fragile, and if your not careful, you could end up with fried hair.

If you try to tone it and it still isnt the color that you want, then I would see a proffessional. Going to a cosmetology school is great, they have teachers there that tell them what to do, and it is really cheap. Good Luck.

if your hair is dark right now then the best thing to do is bleach it...

and after that if you want it lighter or darker then get little high lights or low lights but make sure that when they do it that the highlights are skinny.

Best advice i cld give you is to go see a qualified hairdresser, if your looking to get a job you dont want to be making a pigs ear of it, sorry for the pun, but i think it'll be worth it in the long run. Try and go for a company thats recommended and that doesnt charge to little money, proper salons should do a colour test on u 1st just to make sure your hair is strong enough to take a colour.

don't bleach it any more. try putting a blonde color that is a little darker than the gold color. be sure to get a dye that looks good for your skin tone, too!

as youve been dying your hair hot pink for a while it's probably best to get it done professionally.

maybe you should start with a mousy colour if you are going to do it yourself, because most blondes from other colours go a strange colour, like greens oranges or yellows.
