Will a blue toner get rid of the pink/orange in my hair?

if so, can you name me one? or show me a picture of the specific toner. that would be very helpful! :D

Blue will cancel out/neutralize orange. (not pink)

Green will cancel out/neutralize red (which pink is a light form of).

In general, you definitely need an ash toner or ash based demi permanent haircolor to deposit over the orange/pink. You might choose a demi permanent haircolor from Sally Beauty Supply like Clairol's Radiance, Clairol's Second Nature, Clairol's Complements Demi or Wella's Color Charm Demi. Choose a shade maybe 1 level darker than what you are now, choose an ash base and you should be able to cover it up within 15 - 30 minutes. If this doesn't work, either go darker or lighten it with bleach.

P.S. Toner's are not necessarily Permanent Haircolor. All of the demi permanent colors I mentioned are deposit only, no lift, no ammonia and will be gentle on your hair.

I assume you are referring to a blue based color....but I am not clear.

It sounds like you are wanting to tone down the orange in your hair. Get a purple/blue shampoo that specifically cuts down on brasiness and red/orange tones. You can find these in the drug store.

Toner is actually permanent hair color. So my suggestion to you is to go to Sally Beauty Supply and buy a hair color that you want to use to tone, just make sure it have a blue or violet base. Then mix your color and put it on the only thing is I wouldn't let it sit for the full amount of time, i would watch it and rinse it out when you reach your desired level of color.

Blue + pink = purple.

Green + pink = brown.

Blue + orange = brown.

If you have a pinkish orange in your hair, you need a greeny-blue toner to get rid of it. If it's naturally red hair, you need blue (but red hair looks great so I don't know why you would get rid of it. If it's dyed pink, you need green.

its all based on the color wheel. the primary colors are red, blue and yellow. the complentary to red is green, the complimentary to yellow is violet, and the compimentary color to blue is orange. if it's red/orange you want to cover, you need a blue/ash tint to cover it, not violet. violet is used to neutralize yellow.
