Does permanent or semi-permanent pink hair dye make hair brighter pink?

okay, i have verry dark hair and i want a few pink and blue highlights in my hair.and i dont want like the faded kind and im worried it will be since my hair is so dark..wud semi-permanent or permanent make it brighter? i found some at hot topic also and i was wondering if these were good kinds to buy like if they actually work and also can u just use a little bit of it and use the same bottlle like a month later if u want to redo it or do u have to buy a new container? please and thank you.

I worked in a hair salon and permanent definitely better. semi-permanent is going to fade fast, that's why it's semi. Most hair dyes are bad for your hair, I didn't look at the ones you mentioned but most have ammonia. But for a brighter color your definitely going to want permanent and make sure to follow the directions, if anything leave it in a little longer then recommended but that's all. Hope that helps!

u would need to bleach ur hair and than add the color u want i wont recommend u put the semi because it fades away and its not permanent

bleach the section you want then use permanant hair dye on it. It might be fried, but it will be the color you want it and it won't fade when you wash it.

First, you HAVE to strip the chunks of hair youre going to dye of their color. Place thick foil strips under the part of your hair that you want to dye and paint on the bleaching color, then foild the foil so your hair is in the inside like a sandwich. When youve rinsed that, use the foils again and put on the colors you want. Use permanent dye rather than semi-permanent. Also, before you buy those colors at hot topic go to a beauty supply store first to see if its for sale there. If you can find the colors you want there, get those. They're MUCH better for your hair than the ones from hot topic.
