Okay wellll i bought pink hair dye (Cerise, by Directions)and its semi-permanent and it doesnt say that i like have to bleach before so itll come out on my hair , but will my hair only turn pink if i do?i dont really want to cos itll wreck my hiar and when the dye goes my hairll be all weird and white soo if i dont will it just be like, muted pink?my hair is brown now......

yes you do have to bleach your hair,it won't work otherwise.i swear by russell jeromes bleach.i buy it at superdrug mainly.i use directions dye to do my hair %26amp; have to top it up every week or else it looks dirty pink.its not a prob to dye it back to your brown colour though!! be prepared for some very wierd looks from ppl though!!!!

Your hair will still be brown but with a pinkish tinge. (If you've got any greys they will be pink though!).
To have completely pink hair you will need to have all the natural colour taken out with a bleach.

if you want to dye your hair pink then you have to take the pigment out of your hair so the pink will if you like stick to it, so yes you have to dye it blonde first ( bleaching your hair is stripping the natural pigment out of your hair) if you dont do this the pink will just wash out, good luck!!!!

If it's anything other than blonde the most you'll get from that dye without bleach is a very slight light red sheen in bright light.

If you have very dark hair you wont notice it im afraid. The only best way to get dramatic looks is to bleach it, unless you have light hair. xx

Well, I dyed my hair blue recently. I have light brown hair. The first time I tried it without bleach. The color just barely showed up. The second time I bleached my hair and it showed up great. Now, the choice is up to you. Depending on your natural hair color the pink may show up fine. But if you bleach it it will likely show up much better.

Yes, I'm afraid so. I once was going to dye my hair red, but I was told that I would have to bleach my hair first in order for my hair to take the color. No you don't have to but it is helpful if you want it to last longer....I never wanted to make a permanent commitment like bleaching my hair so I would just dye it over my natural light brown color and it would last a couple of months and then I would change colors.

you have to bleach your hair i you want a bright color i suggest you use 50 volt manic panic bleach. also if oyou bleach your hair it will note be uted it will be bright and brilliant just always keep up with it or it will fade.

Hi, if you dye it on the colour you have now you wont hardly notice the pink. They tell you to bleach it first because It will be a very bright pink like on the box and it will last longer on bleached hair. If you want the result on the box then you may have to bleach your hair a few times before it gets light enough. I dont know How dark or Light your hair is, But if its dark and goes a gingery colour if you do bleach it then I dont know weather pink will go on a different shade altogether. I dont have much experiace with progressive colours only bleaching and redyeing with sort of natural hair colours. I do my boyfriends the odd time but he bleached his hair to almost white so he gets the colour its suppose to be hes been red and also Blue. I idyed my hair with a purply colour on top of my brown and all I got was hints of the colour.
If I was you I would Just stick to the colour you are and go for the red or purple colours in Live colour lights.
