It's her own personal style and she's trying it out and wanting freedom. I would say okay, but only the temporary one to see how it looks first and she might hate it. Don't worry, she'll grow out of it.

i think what your daughter is trying to do is fit in. she may hang out with the "rocker kids" at school. and maybe shes trying to do it to impress a guy that she likes, by dyeing her hair. and changing the way she dresses.its just a phase. she might or might not grow out of it as she starts to mature

Tell her that because her hair isn't naturally black, and she's already applied the black all over, she's going to risk damaging her hair a lot by adding pink because she'd have to bleach hair that has already been dyed. I don't believe you should choose for her, but I think you have every right to tell her she must get it done by a hairdresser if she does it.

Mom, this is a case of "pick your battles" ...she's not breaking the law or doing something irreparable to her self or her property...let her go and she'll "grow" out of it in more ways than one

I suppose it depends how old she is. If she is over 16 there is very little you can do since she has fallen to the dark side. If she is still a wee one you can ground her and take away her cell phone. Often the black on black goth look is a cry for help. Girls and boys who feel they do not fit in to mainstream society resort to images of death. The addition of pink in your daughter's look may actually be a blessing. Remember to make plenty of photographs of her to use against her when she is older and has a job and children who want to dye their hair orange.
